Nice article, lots of good points and quotes.

I think anyway that the biggest problem is caused by the fact that people confuse the term “state” with the one of”nation”

And while the first is but a military institution with the monopoly of violence and theft, the second one is of a concept which includes everyone born in that place they call their nation.

To often politicians which should work as representatives of the nation, become the executives of that military institution which serves only the interests of its procures, commanders and military chiefs.

That is what needs to end if we are to restore that which our forefathers have fought for, our freedom.

This was a splendid article, thank you. The parallels to the present are disquieting, petrifying. It would seem that we have no recourse but to act courageously and cultivate defiance or face an ever-tightening strait jacket of tyranny.

🙏 I think so.

Once a predator spots you, the safest way to deal with it is often to simply turn and face it and hold your ground. To think of it from the predators perspective, the most useful characteristic to decide whether something is "prey" or "not prey" is whether the thing shows fear (prey runs), or simply ignores and growls if the predator gets too close. Holding your ground signals you're dangerous to the predator and makes the predator reassess if there isn't something else it ought to do with its day. The honey badger strategy. It's not a foolproof strategy, but ducking and hoping is not going to get us out of this mess.

Yes, I sometimes do think we've devolved into an "eat or be eaten" situation. It may be well worth sharpening my old incisors a bit. I've been considering the more esoteric option of frizzing my gray hair and burning sage while muttering incantations and casting hexes in their direction....
