Excellent framing of our current global political and eco.omic crises and how we got to this point. If someone had said that I would be rooting for Trump 10 years ago, I would have said NEVER! Even as a woman who despised his behaviour - "grab 'em by the pussy" - I would rather have an openly misogynist leader who stands up to mealy-mouthed idiots and deceitful charlatans who are effectively sending us over a cliff.

It remains to be seen whether he has the skill and fortitude to carry out his plans while still maintaining his popularity in America. Getting rid of DEI and trans ideology was a step in the right direction. It's time that the voting population took personal responsibility for their future.

I had no idea we were so close to completely losing our freedom. I was naive like most people. Not any more. Freedom clearly isn't free. No matter what Trump does, citizensmust always hold their leaders accountable.

Oh good. I was thinking of doing the same. I would love to see Jeff Childers incorporate some of this in his comments and analysis.

Got to know and follow you via Trish Wood Podcast - discovered/read Autopsy of a Pandemic. Amazing book that everyone should read. Such a thorough big picture capture of a “great divide”. Pick a side. Look forward to tomorrow’s read.

It does seem as though lines are being drawn. Thank you for this article! I've been looking elsewhere in our hemisphere for hope and all the while puzzled by Trump's recent comments to Canada and, especially, to Greenland. Your historic and global perspective has raised my "sight" a bit higher and broader to the reasons for Trump's comments. I now see how vast and shifting these "historic tectonic plates" really are! Let's hope that the citizens of my country, the USA, begin to realize the much larger issues facing us all. Most of the people I know in my state are still entirely captured by Trump Derangement Syndrome with no counter-balance of awareness of the larger forces that threaten us.

but that isn't the left, the real left is a heresy in the era of financial capital, what you're talking about is the fake woke left, imposed from above, to tame the masses and distract them from the real social struggles: equal rights, but above all fair distribution of economic resources, defense of COMMON GOODS, shared ownership of the means of production.

If you want fraternité you must also want egalité, strong stuff for Jacobins or communists.

We are is the Fourth Revolution, but human beings have not changed, we are still in Prehistory, Marx would say... The rich still oppress and dictate the law and exploit, the masses are still forced to obey, by fair means or foul... The law is equal for all is a communist heresy, let's forget about it. We are going back to normality, we are going back to the law of the strongest... Egalitarian democracies are not given to you from above; it is a dream of the partisans, of the Jacobins, of the communists and of the anarchists, strong stuff; a heresy to be eradicated without leaving a trace.

Schwab is neither Marxist, nor Communist. The only thing that truly terrifies these oligarchs, who are the new aristocracy of the 21st century, is the class struggle from below: the only thing capable of defeating them.

What the globalists have in mind is a technocratic neo-feudalism.

Globalist Marxism is a fairy tale that circulates on social media, usually spoken of by people who have never read a page of Marx.

The left, the real one, is out of the game like the Cathars and the Albigensians in the Middle Ages. In Latin America, and n the East, socialists and communists are attacked and conquered by armies, like the "Perfects" in Carcassonne.

All this is very short lived. The bombastic trump bubble will burst before his term is over. However , Europe and NATO will be reformed in leu of current events and hostilities. Yes, I agree that it was stupid of Europe to rely on Russian gas and ignore Putins propaganda of russian mir! It is also very stupid to deny Ukraine NATO membership. As a Canadian I don’t want any trumpizm in my country, and I will go to dig tranches amongst very first defenders of our Canadian sovereignty.

Well, that is, to say the least, an interesting way to read the entrails. Have you ever read Nietzsche's assertion that there are no facts, only interpretations? I make no judgment for the time being as to what extent you may be wrong, and to what extent you may be right,

You may feel "One of Trump’s most unusual characteristics is his uncanny ability to smell weakness and poke his finger into the middle of it" is a good trait, Unfortunately it is a trait common to narcissistic psychopaths. There a number of American traits we as Canadians do not want here.

First is the flow of illegal weapons into Canada from the US, Most of these guns are used by criminals to commit violent crimes.Canada should impose punitive tariffs on the US until they stop the flow of guns that is killing Canadians.

Trump never mentions the amount of Drugs entering Canada fer om the US, While any amount of drugs entering ones country is bad and justification for increased border security less than 1% of the US fentanyl market is from Canadian fentanyl, likewise the illegal immigrants from Canada to the US is only in the order of 1% and there are many American citizens and illegal immigrants escaping the US into Canada.

Why does Trump etal not mention the 2 way trade in drugs, the 2 way trade in illegals or the one way trade in Guns. Yes Canada needs to tighten its border to stop the flow of drugs illegals and guns from the US

Around the world — Agencies, police departments, states, counties, fire departments, schools, hospitals, armies — They’re all in a mad scramble to get federal reserve notes. Nobody wants to work for money, they want it handed to them, and they will lie cheat, and steal to get it. Stealing money from the federal reserve, is it even stealing? We do not have a government. We have a money system that people will do whatever they need to do to get the money. Nobody wants to work, the artisans and expert carpenters are committing suicide because they’re building beautiful mansions for ingrates who never lifted a finger for anything. The generals don’t even want to kill for money, they just want to get the money. Zelensky buys millions of dollars of real estate in Florida. He doesn’t care who lives or dies. He just wants the money. I say ideology is dead, liberal, conservative, socialism capitalism, nationalism, it’s nothing. The money machine that prints and distributes paper money drives everybody, everybody.

I do appreciate the link to Peter Foster’s brilliant NP article which I had missed when published. I encourage all your readers, Julius, to read it. Interesting that Carney misinterpreted Adam Smith on moral sentiments to further his own misguided agenda. I recall also a book called “The Seven Cultures of Capitalism” which pointed out that the invisible hand worked in both directions.

Now, back to your article!
